+    This one actually got in! It can be found on coloUrs and mayhem: Universe B, the second of two albums released as a result of the contest.

+    I love pulling genre bait-and-switch and I totally do the same going from dance music to orchestral thing I did in [[track:through-the-seventh-gate-land-of-frost-and-frogs|"Land of Frost and Frogs"]]. This one has added chiptune flavor, though. And portamento to simulate drunken hiccups!

+    One of my two submissions to the Land of Fans and Music album, an unofficial compilation of fanmusic created within the Homestuck fandom. The other submission was [[MeGaDanceVaNia]].

+    This was not only the first track on the album, but really the only track that was specifically composed for the album. Or remixed, rather. The initiator of the project, [[artist:elaine-wang|OJ]], requested for a remix to be done of MK_97's [[track:homestuck-title-screen|"Homestuck Title Screen,"]] while incorporating more motifs from the comic. I took up that request, and churned this out.

+    This song was basically a nostalgia bomb for me; I just had to think back to the days of playing SNES-era RPGs, and what I thought a title screen tune should sound like. Chrono Trigger's [title screen tune](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU1rM8UYpus), in particular, was a big influence, as was the simple ["Dearly Beloved"](www.youtube.com/watch?v=g25QXnhVijQ) from Kingdom Hearts. I'm actually really proud of this remix; I'm usually terrible at slow songs, but this one just works. +    This didn't get in, even though I felt that it was my strongest contender. I hoped that it could serve as the "Showtime" for the Alpha kids, and modelled it specifically after [[track:showtime-original-mix|"Showtime"]] and [[track:dissension-original|"Dissension,"]] with a recognizable motif repeated in different styles.

     A song for Kanaya, this song is - in my opinion - the weakest contender of the lot. Daywalker nonetheless marks my first attempt at using real audio in a song - I recorded the flute performance myself. Unfortunately, my playing, recording, and production are definitely not up to snuff, honestly. Given that it was recorded with a terrible laptop mic, with a player who hadn't played in a long while (me), I suppose that was honestly no surprise.

     However, I love both the harp and flute melodies in this song. It was a blast to play, and I'd definitely think about using them again at some point in the future.
