**Compare the responsibilities of renters and owners.**

Renters and owners must both be aware of and respect the rules relating to
owning or renting a house that are given to them, which often include
boundaries on what can be done to the house, structurally or aesthetically.

Renters will, in addition to the above, need to understand when they must pay
rent, and how expensive rent will be, and be able to prepare for payments. They
must also be aware of the terms of their lease, such as if when they leave they
will need to pay the rent that they would have payed had they stayed until the
end of the term.
