**In A White Heron, Sylvia is presented with a difficult decision: whether to
divulge the location of the white heron or not. Write a short story explaining
what you would have done in the same situation. Support your choice with a
rationale explaining your decision.**

Similar to what Sylvia did, but perhaps more quickly. I’d never have left to
find the white heron’s place to start with – partly because of previous
experiences with the bird, and nature in general, and partly because of the
fact that it was *killing the animal,* which, though – just a bird – was an
animal with a life that didn’t need to be sacrificed for whatever preserving
purposes the ornithologist may have. (At least, in the mind of Sylvia or myself
– perhaps not that of the expert.)
