% Watersheds

*Watersheds* are areas of land where multiple water sources (tributaries) flow
into one point.

When you’re organizing an activity that could affect the watershed, you need to
keep in mind that what you do to the watershed is going to affect everything
that goes downstream from the watershed.

If you clog up the watershed, less water will get through the watershed - and
that’s water that areas below could need. If you pollute around the watershed,
all the water that goes through will also be polluted.

If watersheds aren’t kept well, whole areas of farming or sources of drinking
water for people and animals could go bad.
