(context: main character is a dragon. yep that's it) OW! Suddenly there was a blunt pain in her side. One of the oversized lumps of fur had shoved its thick skull directly against her chest! But how could that be - a sheep ATTACKING her? The fluffball species was food, not foe! So much for thinking. An awfully bulky one rammed itself straight into her waist; the disgraceful impact startled her more than it should have, and she stumbled. Great. She retook her footing and twisted her head, just about to bare a nasty face, when suddenly a sheep hit her at the bottom of her neck. Her breath knocked out by prey turned predator - what a joke. But who else would get into a situation like this? She should have just snatched one and flown off. She'd barely caught her breath when an unholy ram crashed into her back end. The shock made her exclaim some snotty remark in pain and reactively throw out her wings. That did it - she swirled her whole body and, without thinking, slashed into the beast's thick hide. But it stood no chance against her hooked talons; the sheep let out a bleat, and became nothing more than a furry sludge of meat. And that was exactly what it deserved. She drew out her claws, gorey as the corpse. All the other mammals of meal had backed off - or maybe her wing outlash had thrown them away. But they clearly had gotten the message. None came closer. Sore all around and drained from the shame of the situation and her instinctive reaction, she let out a weak roar and pulled her catch into the air. Still somewhat phased, she knew she was a mess. She'd only been of any use once she got kicked out of mind, out of control. It was nothing more than a violent automatic defense - she hadn't actually tried to kill the prey. And there was her fault. How could she be of any help at all if she only fought when she was pushed past her edge, her brink of self? And the sheep was meant to be food - slaying one would never be a mistake. But what if she reacted that way in training with others? It was hardly unexpected to attack and, in turn, be attacked. But if she lashed out with the unfiltered death drive that took hold of her like that - she didn't want to harm anyone, or worse, like that.
