this isn't really how we feel
or is it...?

The drawings mostly exist as ways of pinpoint, ‘protest’ to the idea that we need to describe or understand ourselves—just drawing feelings and letting the drawings be the image of those feelings

rather, protest to the idea that we need to describe/understand ourselves, for our feelings to even be real

They have to do with deciding we’re going to try and go for therapy—

because our drawings are the main way we communicate our feelings to ourselves, through time… and we know we’re going to have to be okay with doing that - and doing it imperfectly! - in order to communicate effectively within therapy sessions… in order to have some frame of understanding of our own feelings

They’re both drawings of the woof… of Whisper

The first one - I had a visual, sort of emotional idea, and it came out almost completely differently… there was something real in it anyway. It’s about Whis carrying trauma and being strong through a lot of suffering—being stronger than she maybe needed to be, suffering more than she maybe needed to suffer. I… don’t know exactly how she feels about that idea. It scares me, and she understands my fear, but maybe feels different about it herself, in… a way I don’t know how to understand
