reintroduces occasional horizontal black bars / letterboxing
but artworks have a present-enough form in content area that
this should not cause real confusion over dimensions, which
is the main point of concern.

This was left on accident from testing, and broke layering (ofc)
for the banner reflection effect.

This is essentially the best we can get without taking advantage
of literally brand new navigation APIs, if we don't want to get
reeeeeeeeeeally futzy.
This approach is strictly oriented around the back/forward cache
and does not store anything in history state (replaceState etc).
