reaches live-dev-server serve with no errors and serves
homepage at all and apparently correctly
no page navigation performed
no full build performed
aimed for preserving existing logic
should be no subsequent changes to this commit (amend)

This is "wrong" because it obscures the placement of those sub-
errors as under a cause... but because the cause itself is
translucent, ca n'a pas exactement l'air d'un mensonge.

not sure how to nicely separate some #aggregate code from
its dependency on colors, so it lives out of util for now
not used anywhere on client but would be nice to support
there eventually
